For yet another season, controversy has mired college football’s national championship. While Alabama was voted the consensus national champion, supporters of Oklahoma State, and to a lesser extent LSU, continue to contest that their team is the true national champion. With the BCS in its present state, it is impossible to definitively end these debates. In an article I recently wrote at Bleacher Report, I discuss the BCS’s history of failure and why it needs to be replaced by a playoff of some kind.
